COWG members have spent the week at the Ohio State Fair in the Brown Sheep Building demonstrating spinning, weaving, knitting, and the like. At the sheep shearing contest, members presented a Sheep to Shawl event in which they carded, spun, and wove a shawl from local wool in just three hours. We understand that Sheep to Shawl now is going to be an annual event at the fair and we are thrilled.
Many thanks to Cheryl Koncsol for organizing all that goes into the demo area–including her presence every day at the fair, to Sue Briney and Kathleen Craig for their organization of Sheep to Shawl, and to all the member volunteers at the fair this week. Now check out this awesome video of our Sheep to Shawl put together by Anne Kennedy and note the team’s great t-shirts designed by member Pat Bullen.
